What's in this database?
The ASM Failure Analysis Database is an online collection of more than 1,000 case histories in failure analysis (FA), organized by the types of materials involved and the nature of the failure. The database subscription also includes the full contents of ASM Handbook® Volume 11: Failure Analysis and Prevention, making it a complete reference resource for FA technicians, consultants, and those concerned with engineering failures.

Become a contributing author
ASM International, the ASM Failure Analysis Committee, and partnering organizations are committed to expanding and maintaining the ASM Failure Analysis Database as a comprehensive and authoritative source of failure analysis case histories, analysis, and prevention information.
We are inviting individuals and organizations who have specific failure case histories and reliable data sets to contribute their information to the database. Please submit your case histories to the ASM Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention (JFAP). Case histories that are selected for publication in JFAP will also be added to the ASM Failure Analysis Database after they appear in print.
